Author Notes: These are my first ever Trio drabbles, and I am very blushy about it. :-) cut for PG-13.
“I was beginning to think you two would never catch on.”
“Gee, thanks. You might have said something yourself, you know.”
“And risk rejection, and consequent immortal shame?”
“Do you two even argue in bed?”
“You ought to know by now, Harry, this is foreplay for her.”
“Not now. I have to work.”
“Mione!”
“I mean it, Ron!”
“More for me, then.”
“I’ll be home around five, and we can talk about this.”
“Pasta okay?”
“Lovely, thank you, Harry.”
Two squelchy wet kisses, and a door closing.
“You know, when we said ‘flatmates,’ who would’ve thought -”
“Shut it, you.”

“No,” she’d whispered, terrified.
“I haven’t even asked you, yet!” Ron sputtered, angrily.
Harry squirmed.
“Please,” Hermione said, her eyes welling up, “You can’t!”
“Oh really? And why can’t I, then?”
“Don’t make me choose!”
And with that, she had run up the girl’s staircase, sobbing audibly.
Harry and Ron sat in stunned silence for a while, staring into the fire wordlessly. Suddenly, Ron took a deep breath, as though he’d stepped on something sharp. Harry looked up, and they made tentative eye contact, realization dawning between them.
“Did she mean -”
“ - what I think she meant?” Harry finished.
