Title: First Year
House: Hufflepuff
Challenge: Beginning
Rating: G
Word count: 100
Author's note: These drabbles are based on a plot bunny I’ve had for awhile now. I hope they can each stand on their own.

The first-years filed into the Great Hall. The two little dark-haired girls with identical faces held themselves apart from the rest of the group. Their family name and their background set them apart, and they knew it.

A witch called names from a piece of parchment. When she got to “Black, Andromeda!” one little face turned toward its twin. “See, Bella, I told you it would go by name, not by birth order.” As Andromeda walked calmly up to the sorting hat, her sister snarled inwardly. It was the first time in their lives that she hadn’t been put first.

Title: Second Year
House: Hufflepuff
Challenge: Beginning
Rating: G
Word Count: 100

The twin girls ignored the first-years entering the Great Hall. They had gone through the sorting last year and were now more interested in the way the second- and third-year (and even some fourth-year) boys were looking at them.

After awhile, that got boring, too, and they turned their attention to the sorting, which was nearing its end.

A small first-year boy (“Tonks, Ted!”) ran toward the Hufflepuff table. Bella stuck her foot out with perfect timing; the boy went sprawling. Andromeda laughed, then returned the boy’s glare as he got to his feet. Bella muttered “Mudblood,” and looked away.

Title: Sixth Year
House: Hufflepuff
Challenge: Beginning
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100

What the hell happened to that mudblood Puff? How could he have changed that much over just one summer? Andromeda Black tried not to stare as Ted Tonks dragged himself out of the lake, laughing with his housemates, wet clothes clinging to his body. The layer of baby fat was gone. It was a young man’s body now, with hard, flat surfaces and sinewy muscle.

“What are you looking at, Slyth?” Ted’s eyes were narrowed in her direction, his laughter gone.

She nearly stuttered a response before she caught herself. Just walk away before you say or do something stupid.

andromeda/ted, andromeda, ted
