“Disgusting,” Cornelius Fudge spat, collapsing into his shiny leather armchair, and removing his lime bowler to scratch his scalp. “I suppose the Statute of Secrecy is completely meaningless!”
“Flouting authority is Potter’s favorite pastime,” Lucius drawled, “And of course Dumbledore encourages it.”
“No need to tell me!” Fudge pinched his sinuses wearily, “We still haven’t found that ruddy hippogriff.”
“Forget the hippogriff - What do you know about this prophecy?” Lucius asked silkily, “The one in the Department of Mysteries?”
“Lucius,” Fudge hedged uncomfortably, “I can’t just -”
Lucius casually crossed his legs, and the Galleons in his pocket clinked softly.
