Thanks - that saves me the trouble of having to dig through the book for clues, although now I'm curious enough about the various scenes to want to re-read it.

Like I say, the film is slow paced but I thought it was worth it to see the world itself and to see how the various events look on film.

If you read any post-apocalyptic books that are decent, toss their names my way. I once made a list of such books to read but have since lost it ( ... )

Ohh, on that list I have read and highly recommend Santa Olivia (the protagonist is queer!), World War Z and The Hunger Games and its sequel Catching Fire. I think I have reviews for all these in my LJ under my book review tag if it interests you.

I see Z for Zachariah is listed, too! Its simplistic since it is young adult fiction but makes for a good read in a day. I've also read Day of the Triffids - it is extremely dated (1950s or so) but it makes it funny - still, it is a very interesting plot and worth the read.

I've got that list bookmarked now - I recognize several of the titles as having been on my post-apocalyptic "to read" list. *rubs hands together maniacally*
