Day of Drawing

Worked on people's portraits all day today. Remember I originally said I was going to sketch people real quick? Well, the perfection mechanism kicked in and I am spending around an hour and a half on each one. I did pekinjay's in pencil - started it yesterday and finished it today. Okay, I'm on a roll, I thought. Then I started purple_shoes's portrait... because the original photo was kinda blury and things I was having a hard time with parts of it and it was turning out terribly! So I started over and did it in Sharpie. Much better, although I wasn't planning on doing pen and ink for any of these. Then, when I went to do teryl_brat42's, I thought, gee, it'd be nice if Erin and Bex's pics were a matching set sort of deal, so I did hers in Sharpie, too. :P These came out really well. :D

I'm going to try and also do warrior_cat's and the one of sizzferret today because I might have a chance to scan them all in tomorrow, which would be nice because then I'd have them all done before I'm gone to Hawaii for a week, after which folks might forget I was drawing them in the first place if I didn't post the pics before then. ;)

Was going to start Fingersmith while I'm house sitting but I knew if I started it, I would have to read it all the way through. And I don't want to take it to Hawaii with me because I'll be wanting to do other things and I KNOW this book is going to be fantastic. But I lucked out - turns out my aunt Peter had a copy of Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jarod Dimond, which I've been wanting to read for years. And because it's a history text, it won't be something I can't put down to go do something else.
