Why Sam as an elder Mystic would be a great investment

I believe investing in me would be good. I have many reasons. They would apply well if I was playing an elder Mystic, but not very good if I was playing anything else. Then it would not work out very nice.
Mystics always use claws that hit for magic. I am starting out with 1 claw proficiency, and want to bump it up to 6 as soon as it's needed. After learning specialization, I will have an unshatterable, undisarmable, base 9 magic weapon. All the time.
Mystics are designed to "multi-class". More so than any other race. EVER. In Shifted Lands, a game where most of the characters are intended to spread out their skills and work together, they are designed to be able to stand their own against odds that would destroy whole teams.
With their Mental Focus, they combine all of their lower pools together to form one large pool of energy that can be used in place of any lower or upper pool. Thus, a mystic with the right skills can expend huge amounts of energy for one goal. For example, a mystic with base 50 in all the lower pools and guaranteed resurrection, could empty his focus and resurrect nearly anyone that is not resurrecting from multiple deaths after dissipation i.e. the "package". Or the mystic could sell 4 ritual shields in one sitting. Or he could dodge 20 times.
Also, because they don't hold anything, that means they don't NEED anything. They don't want expensive artisan training, and the only things an elder Mystic can EVER use is rope for walls and circles, scrolls for their Mental Spellbook(which cannot be stolen), the occasional magic item to fill their focus, and a ritual Enhancement. There isn't anything else in the game that they can use, let alone want for their own.
Now that an elder Mystic can help refill his pools with his racials, it's no longer a matter of whether he's got the skill left to fight or not. Now it matters how fast he can move onto the next bad guy to kill him too. Since it is faster to focus cast spells, and defenses can be called up to 3 seconds after you are hit, swinging your weapon fast enough and accurate enough becomes for important than anything else. That way, the more bad guys that are beat up, there is more money dropped on the ground. I like to run lots and I have practised fighting with two claws for a long time and I am better at it than anyone else in the world. EVER. So I can beat up lots of bad guys really fast.
All of that sounds very tempting but the thing that scares people away from elder Mystics is that most of them say they eat anything magic they can find to free the magic. That is scary. Nazis are scary. Mystics and Nazis are almost the same thing. But what about those nice little Germans that aren't Nazis? I am playing a Mystic who belonged to a group that thought differently. The basic idea is that magic is what he eats. He can't eat food like regular people, he has to eat magic items to survive. Like components and stuff. Magic isn't a creature that can be chained up with a ritual to a shoe and then used. Magic is a part of every object and is what makes anything possible. Magic also smells good. More magic, more smelling good. Like if this super cool Mystic walks into a room with a big bag of ritual scrolls sitting on a table, it'd be like you walking into a room where they are baking cookies. Thank you, it smells like yum. But I'm just not hungry right now. Think of a philosophy hippy professor that can only eat cheese who can flip out like a ninja whenever he feels like it(For more information on flipping out, see
http://www.realultimatepower.net/index4.htm ). So he's good in a fight, good to go out to the bar with, good to babysit the kids for the night, and won't press his beliefs on you. But he spends all his money on rent so every now and then you need to buy him some Kraft or else this cool dude could die. That would be bad.
And that is why investing in me as an elder Mystic would be a great thing to do. Because you would have a guy that will make lots of money, can take out any big bad guy, doesn't want lots of stuff or training, and will go out and have a beer and a good time. All rolled into one. You can't lose.
