Newsom and New Home
Okay, so Joanna Newsom. First of all, I urge you all to listen to her album 'Ys', as it's pretty much amazing. I was a little disappointed she only performed two songs from it on the night, but one of them was Emily (The video I posted in my previous entry), and it was fantastic. I was also a little surprised that she performed the whole gig on her own, mostly on the harp, but moving to the piano for a few songs. It kind of made it more intimate, though. Between songs she would tell a bit of a story, too, and she just came across as being really nice. I'm in love <3
So, anyway, a couple of days ago (This week has been a bit of a blur for me, so I'm not sure exactly when), my flatmate told me he'll be moving out at the beginning of September, as it's rather too expensive for him to stay here. This leaves me with the choice of staying, and finding someone to replace him, or moving out at the same time. I'm going with the latter, as I'm finding it too expensive here, too. I'm still toying with the idea of moving to Brighton soon-ish, but until then I should be able to find somewhere temporary in Cambridge. I hope. I've got until the 7th of September, but August isn't really the best time for me to be looking for a place to live, as I'll be in Korea, Japan and Ireland for about half of it.. I'll cope, I guess.
My internet connection's being a shit, so I'm going to go into town. Bye!
