My fic is going nowhere, so I thought I'd do this instead. Snagged from
wihluta's page.
01. What are your nicknames?
Hmmm... Babe, Wee Piglet and variations on Piggly.
02. How do you style your hair?
Very short. I'm pretty sure 'style' isn't the right word for it :)
03. What's new in your life right now?
Unemployment (but in a *good* way i.e. I've just dumped my much-loathed job :)
04. What colors are you wearing right now?
Um... lazy :) Red pyjama bottoms, white T shirt, grey dressing gown, grey socks and blue Crocks.
05. What's the last thing you cooked?
Fried eggs on toast, about 20 minutes ago :)
06. What was the last book you read?
Eustace & Hilda by L.P.Hartley, for the umpteenth time.
07. Do you nap a lot?
Not deliberately, but if I sit down in front of the television, or go and lie down on the bed to read, I sometimes drop off... Zzzzzz...
08. Who are you crushing on right now?
Still Wilson, of course. Is there somebody else?
09. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
Well, a bit of uncertainty arising out of having my house on the market during what's apparently the worst housing market crisis over here in living memory.
10. What's your favourite dessert?
Ooh... I think probably a really yummy banoffee pie :)
11. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
Not long. I can get up and out in 15 minutes if I *really* push it. It comes of having virtually no hair, and absolutely no dress sense.
12. What websites do you visit daily?
LJ, and normally a couple of walking/backpacking forums.
13. Do you write fic? What was the last fic you wrote?
I do write them from time to time. The last one I wrote was
Love & War.
14. Do you like to clean?
Well I wouldn't say I *like* to clean, but I do enjoy getting the kitchen straight. It's so oppressive to be surrounded by mounds of dirty dishes.
15. What's the last song that got stuck in your head?
*sticks fingers in ears* I.REFUSE.TO.TRY.TO.REMEMBER. I.REFUSE.TO.TRY.TO.REMEMBER. I.REFUSE.TO.TRY.TO.REMEMBER. I.REFUSE.TO.TRY.TO.REMEMBER.
16. What's the last movie you saw?
*scratches head* I don't watch them very often. Lemme see... Ah! The Go Between on DVD.
17. Bagpipe, didgeridoo, theremin -- awesome sounds or musical vivisection?
Awesome :)
18. What is your least favourite thing to do that you have to do everyday?
Worry :) (I'm an inveterate worrier.)
19. Best time of your life?
In 1990 I spent 3 months on a tiny and remote island off the coast of Belize, as part of a diving expedition:
South Water Cay. It's a sophisticated place now, but I went on the first expedition, and there was nothing there except us and the coconut palms. Anyway, it was brilliant! We all lived in extremely primitive conditions in a wooden, two-storied building that had once been a convent. There were about 30 of us, I think: half of us were staying for the whole thing, and the other half stayed for about a month each and then swapped over. We dived two or three times a day, monitoring the health of the coral in the reef (the second longest barrier reef in the world) and the fish population. We were divided into Day Groups, and every 6 days or so each group would have to get up at 5am (the rest of the people got up at 6am) to make breakfast, bring in the boats, start filling the cylinders etc. After brekky we'd make bread, and then root around for something for lunch and dinner. Food was limited, and at times we were hungry, but that was all part of the charm of the thing (though largely in retrospect). The diving was wonderful, of course, but just as good--maybe even better--was the experience of having to live in intimately close conditions with what was initially a bunch of strangers. The process of settling in with each other was fascinating. First everybody was terribly polite, and then some of us began to get on each other's nerves, and for a while some people got a bit stroppy, but eventually everybody just rubbed down together and began to take things as they came. By the time it was over I was more relaxed than I've ever been in my entire life. That lasted for about 24 hours when I got home :)
20. What are you most looking forward to in the coming month?
Getting my puppy in or about mid-January.
