Party at Spade Castle?!!!
Twenty-four years ago today a certain Butler breathed his first. Katya is not knowing why Declan seems obsessed with fours, but she knows the fact that it is his twenty-fourth must make it significant to him. And because it is important to Chives, it is important to her. And not just to her, she thinks as she oversees the arranging of Spade Castle to more celebratory tones (without being overtly festive). Declan is favorite of all the Royals and many Numbers. Ethan, as promised, has lured Declan away so final touches can be made to avoid suspicion.
And so she has set wheels in motion, spoken words in the right hearing, made suggestions, enlisted help. Today people will let Chives know he is Appreciated--in little ways. But thank him they will, the Spade Butler, the man who is ever present, always helpful, always providing a listening ear or selective deafness.
Katya has been nipping buds each time an excited friend has suggested more. It will be quiet celebration--no favors, no banners, no shouting. She wants the day to be filled with happiness, not panic.
So perhaps requesting five hundred and eight cupcakes (4+16+2012/4) was not in keeping with her goal.
