I thought it might be useful to writers to have a list of resources for New Jersey and the Princeton area. I have, on occasion, read some really strange things in fics that just don't ring true for me. Also, it's sometimes fun to have a little local color in a story. (Couldn't get everything I wanted, though - my favorite ice cream place doesn't have any working links on their site!) So, below the cut, a list of some links
Princeton University - True, there's no PPTH, but there's lots of information about the campus, including maps. (Incidentally, the building that plays PPTH is the Frist Campus Center.)
Shop Princeton - Good information on shopping, dining, nightlife, etc. in Princeton. Maybe Wilson bought Julie's ring at Hamilton Jewelers, or the Ducklings grab a beer at the Alchemist & Barrister. Not surprisingly, escorts are not listed under "services."
Princeton Township - could be useful if you needed information about history or community events. Or if for some reason, you absolutely must know when Cuddy's leaves will be picked up.
15th Best Place to Live - Why Money magazine feels this way about Princeton. Also lists other nearby towns.
New Jersey Transit - For figuring out times to Newark airport, New York, and Philly.
pwcorgigirl provided these, which she used in researching a story:
New Jersey Dept. of Fish, Game, and Wildlife Official State of New Jersey website N.J. Medical Examiners' Office Info on death certificates, etc.
In Princeton:
Princeton Record Exchange - Where John Henry Giles' assistant picked up his music.
The Nassau Inn - a well-known hotel, with lots of banquet halls for events.
Triumph Brewing Company - a great, noisy bar with live music and tasty microbrews and food. Flash site is kind of annoying, but it does feature a "stupid bar game of the month".
The Dinky - the one-car train linking Princeton to the Northeast Corridor train lines.
