Just a brief statement before I have to STFU and GBTW. (And read all of the entries I've missed this weekend.)
The network is done. I repeat, the NETWORK IS DONE!. We now have full internet access in all critical parts of our six-story building sharing just one trusty DSL modem. It turns out that I had the entire network mapped out correctly, but that the software settings are "more complicated than Airport Setup Assistant would lead you to believe". This was uttered by none other than a certified Apple Genius who happens to be a friend of Josh's and who just started working at the new 5th Avenue Apple Store. The guy normally charges $75 an hour for the shiat I've been doing (in between my real jobs) for... hrm, $7 after taxes? Occasional commission checks usually totalling $300 or less? xOh, and by the way? I overheard him expressing a genuine interest in interning here 2-3 days/week. He wants to learn printing, digital photo, color management--basically, my job. He would be a great transition tool until we find a similar person willing to work for peanuts.
So yeah, I'm eternally grateful to this guy, but I'm also pretty proud of myself. Apparently I'm okay at learning as I go.
I have a feeling that getting hired by the Apple Store in Richmond will be the least of my worries, assuming there are openings. (Tight, hot, sexy gay openings, right Julep?)
