Cameron, Foreman, and Chase entered the conference room with two minutes to spare they were about to take their usual places at the table when the heard music start to play from House’s office. They looked at each other; House was hardly ever in his office this early in the morning. The three ducklings made their way into the office and were surprised to see House leaning against his desk, his eyes concentrated on his old school television, a small game control guitar in his hands.

“House what are you doing?” Cameron asked.

“I’m playing Guitar Hero, thought you would have figured that when you saw the guitar,” House said without looking away from the screen.

“Do we have a case?” Foreman asked.

“Nope, thus the reason I’m playing my game instead of doing my clinic hours,” House said cursing as he missed two notes in a row.

“You just practicing or are you on career mode?” Chase asked causing Foreman and Cameron to look at him funny.

“Practicing right now, planning on getting ‘Slow Ride’ down before lunch.”

Chase chuckled as the song ended “You got another guitar?” Chase asked and House looked at him in surprise.

“Thought you were more into exercise than sitting on your ass and playing video games all day,” House said with a smirk.

“You got another guitar or not?” Chase asked as he took off his lab coat and rolled up the sleeves on his shirt.

House nodded as he got up and went over to his desk, he brought a small red guitar from under his desk and plugged the cord of the guitar into the PS2. Chase took the guitar and put the strap over his head to hang from his left shoulder.

“Slow Ride’ then?” Chase asked.

“Easy?” House asked with a grin.

“Expert,” Chase said confidently.

“Oh snap, alright wombat you’re on but if I win you have to do my clinic hours for a week,” House said loving the thought of a challenge. Chase grinned “Deal, if I win you have to buy me lunch for a week.” House nodded and was about to begin the game when Cameron interrupted.

“Guys this is ridiculous we should be looking for a case not playing stupid games,” Cameron said.

House scoffed “Stupid games?” the older doctor looked over at Chase “Women, always wanting to get between a man and his games.”

Chase chuckled and House turned back to Cameron who was clearly annoyed. “Don’t get your panties in a wad if a case comes along I promise to put the stupid game away, happy?”

“No,” Cameron said.

“Too bad,” House said as he pressed the start button on the guitar. A drum beat started a first and then the guitar part which caused little dots of green, red, yellow, blue, and orange to descend from the top of the screen.

Cameron and Foreman watched as both House and Chase hit every note. “I will defeat you mysterious stranger,” House said and Chase shook his head.

“I doubt it,” Chase said as he hit a long note and wriggled the whammy bar. “Getting fancy on me huh?” House asked with a smirk.

“Getting fancy would be doing this whole song behind my head,” Chase countered and House chuckled.

“House this is ridiculous and Chase you shouldn’t be indulging him,” Cameron chastised.

“I indulge him and I get a weeks worth of free lunch,” Chase said as he titled the neck of the guitar up causing all of his notes to turn electric blue. House followed suit and glanced crossly at the Aussie as House missed a few notes.

House moved closer and tried to bump Chase’s guitar but the younger doctor moved away just in time and instead of messing Chase up House messed himself up.

“Dammit, stupid wombat,” House mumbled as he turned all his focus back onto the TV.

The two were silent as the song came to a close and Chase cheered triumphantly as he saw that he was the winner.

“Ok you’re finished now can we please find a patient?” Cameron asked.

“Cameron’s right we should be finding a patient,” Foreman said.

“Buzzkills,” House said as he removed the guitar and placed it on his desk, Chase did the same. Foreman rolled his eyes as he saw House and Chase with identical pouts on their faces.

“Cameron go search for a patient, Foreman go do my clinic hours, wombat you stay here and chart,” House said as he sat down at his desk and popped a few vicodin.

Cameron and Foreman quickly exited the room and Chase made to go back into the conference room.

“Where are you going?” House asked causing the younger man to look back at him. “To chart like you told me to.”

House shook his head “Come on, round two, I’m thinking ‘Barracuda’, you in?”

Chase grinned “Didn’t think you’d want to get beat again so soon.”

House shrugged “I would ask Wilson but he refuses to play with me, says it’s too childish.”

Chase nodded and went back over to House’s desk and picked up the red guitar once more. “Barracuda’ then?”

House smiled “Don’t think I’ll underestimate you again.”

“I’m full of surprises aren’t I?” Chase said with a grin.

“One way of putting it, come on we’ve got at least 20 minutes before Cameron finds us something to do,” House said as he pressed the start button.
