Well today has certainly been an interesting day. I participated in a blood drive over at Lowes home improvement in Sycamore Commons with Sheila and Melody. We got there at about 12, signed up, and then had to wait about an hour for our turns to come. Melody's donating went pretty smooth and it was also her second time doing it so she knew what to expect. When it was my turn, I asked the nurse to use my left arm so that my right one wouldn't be sore in case I had to write or something. So when she goes to put the needle in I was looking away because I didn't want to see it and the next thing I knew she was freaking out because she couldn't get it in because my vein kept moving. At the time I didn't know what was going on and I was trying not to freak out because I'd expected the pain to be quick, but it wasn't going away! Sheila was watching them from the seat across from me and she said the woman was swirling the needle around! I'm glad I wasn't looking. Ok I'll stop grossing you out now. So then she asked if she could do it in my right arm and I said yes. It went really smooth then and she said I needed to always use my right arm whenever I give blood... I guess I should have remembered that my doctor had told me that last year when they had to take some blood... oops. So, anyway, Sheila's donating went pretty well except for once when she screamed really loudly because she thought the nurse was about to put the needle in her. The nurse was actually just going to clean her arm or something and ended up getting scared herself by Sheila's scream. After we were all done we ate lunch at McCallister's. I thoroughly enjoyed my broccoli cheddar soup. yum.
Then, a mere four hours later, Sheila, Melody, and I met up at the crown point movie theater to see Dark Water. It was a weird movie and I'm not really sure whether I liked it or not. Sheila didn't let me down and interjected many halarious but inappropriate comments. The people around us seemed to be enjoying her comments too, except for a couple of people who thought Sheila was actually retarded. I didn't see it happen, but Sheila said that when me and Melody left the theater to go to the bathroom, she was eating popcorn and blowing on each piece in order to get the excessive amount of salt off of it that she had accidentally put on earlier. She said the people were like, "I didn't know they let those kids in movies." And also, "where's her chaperone?" It would have been great if I had been there to hear them say it. So after the movie we went to Steak and Shake and got crappy service as usual. Oh well, they didn't get a tip so maybe they'll take a hint.
I should probably go to bed now because I have to get up bright and early tomorrow. Cori, Sheila, Melody, and I are taking a road trip up to Raleigh to visit Anna at Governor's School. It should be fun... hopefully we won't get lost. Later guys. : )
