Yes! cosine!

So this summer has been going pretty good for me.  A couple days after graduation I went to the beach at Bald Head Island with my mom and Cori.  We had a good time just pretty much doing nothing and relaxing.  Cori and I also somehow managed to watch 22 movies over the course of the week. (My mom's friend who owns the house we stayed in has an extensive movie collection).

After that I had to go straight to an Engineering camp up at NC State.  I thought that it would help me decide if Civil Engineering was interesting to me and if it was what I wanted to end up doing.  But, as it turned out, I hated the camp.  The things that they made us do in the classes were so silly.  We had to do things like build bridges out of straws and tape and they also made us put together a pre cut life-size bridge without any directions and without talking to each other.  I was just thinking "what the heck is this teaching us?" the whole time.  Since most of engineering consists of math and physics I figured they would be teaching a little bit of that.  It wasn't that I really wanted to be learning math and physics, but that I wanted to get a good idea of what I would be doing later on if I decided to major in Civil Engineering.  Throughout the whole week we only did anything mathy one time:  We were about to go out in this field to do surveying and our teacher was explaining how to find elevations using triangles and trig.  And he pointed to this one side of the triangle and was like "how would you find the length of this side?"  and this guy was like "cosine"  and the teacher was so excited that we knew that.  He was like "yes! good job! cosine!"  I just didn't understand why he didn't think we knew any math considering we were all rising juniors and seniors.  I've decided that they must not have wanted to scare us with the math because they just wanted it to be fun.  I guess that didn't work on me because I didn't have fun.  Oh well, I guess I'll stop rambling about that.

Yesterday I went to a craak reunion.  Yes, a craak reunion.  It was good to see everybody again even though I already see Robbie all the time.  We had fun swimming in the pool even though it looked like it was about to pour the entire time. And I'm sure the five of us looked pretty funny driving around Amanda's yard crammed into her two-person golf cart. That was great.  Then we all headed over to Starbucks to meet Melody, Sheila, Jessica, and Lisa.  Then all nine of us went to see The Interpreter at the $1.50 movie theater.  It was pretty good.  I actually half way understood it because it was the second time I had seen it.  I enjoyed sitting next to Sheila and listening to her inappropriate comments.  Allthough I'm sure she would inform me that I made inappropriate comments too.  Oh yeah and I almost forgot to metion that I practically got raped during the movie and Sheila just laughed while it happened! lol.  Uh huh, yeah, ask Robbie about it.

I've got senior pictures on Wednesday so that should be interesting.  I've heard from people that it takes a really long time. :(  Oh yeah and I just got my SAT score back from June and I scored significantly lower in Verbal than I did when I took the old test in November.  It's looking like I might have to take it again this fall. bleh.

I guess that's it.  Later guys.
