I'm so sorry to hear this. When I was 13 I was going back home and saw something black towards the farther end of the street. My mother told me that our cat did not return home and with a feeling of dread I went out again. Coming closer I saw it was our cat lying on the road, but I thought, what if she's still alive, what if she still lives? I went closer and realized that her insides where outside and half of her head smashed in. She had been driven over and over again after she was killed and hurt.
That pain has never left me. We lost three more cats on that same street, but keeping them indoors was not an option. I still cry myself into sleep from time to time.
This is something so senseless and cruel.
