Tonight has been the night from hell regarding this damned expedia booking Im supposed to have in my system.

This really nice lady walks into my lobby, with her two children (one of whom is a f**king devil) and says she has a reservation...

Okay, so I go through my normal procedure

Name, reservation number and "how did you book?"
Turns out she booked with Expedia and her reservation is no where to be found in my system. Joy.
So I spent a good 20 minutes searching through our system in hopes of some tidbit of information that would lead me to the reservation, only to be dissapointed.

I spent another 40 minutes on the phone with Expedia just so I could get them to fax me a copy of the reservation information they had on file. Which, in the end, by the way, was useless. There was still no reservation in my system anywhere.

So, to get this woman out of my lobby and into a room I made a manual booking for her and checked her in using the information on the expedia fax. I tell her that I still need to call them back and get certain information, but for the moment she has a room to go to. Which is good enough for her and shes off.

So I call back and inform them of whats going on and that the last thing I need is the mercahnt card number, expiry date and all that jazz only to have them tell me I need to call back tomorrow at a different number to set up the account to bill expedia properly.

And so my headache continues.

Now, Im pretty much pissed off at this point and dont want to have to deal with this shit anymore. So there is a HUGE FREAKING NOTE left for my am shift to read and make sure the checkout and billing is done correctly. after that, I dont care what happens.

Now, as for that little demon child....

I just never understand how such nice people end up with such hateful children. To some extent I felt bad for the woman since she was by herself trying to take care of two kids and had to tow them around the city all day...Her daughter, the youngest is very sweet and quiet. She sat in the lobby reading a book quietly almost the entire time without incident.

The boy on the other hand was trying to tip shit over, asking me questions left right and centre, making a mess of the front desk... and for a while he tried to beat up his sister. The mother wasnt just sitting around, she did hold him in place for a while and give him time outs, but I think hes just too pissed off with the world because he doesnt learn.

I had to tell him if he didnt be good I wouldnt let him sleep in the hotel. Which shut him up long enough to let me get some work done.

I think the worst part was when he took his metal necklace and started swinging it around trying to hit people. After his mother took that away he asked "why are you so mean to me?" and "Its not my fault I hit her, she makes me do it"

Uhhhh..... okay. Shes sitting there reading a book. OH NO ITS THE END OF THE WORLD! SHES READING! EVERYONE PANIC!!!!!

Mother-dearest then sits him down and nicely tried to explain that his being a prick, shes an angel and that he is the one with the problem, not her. Well said, Id have skipped the BS sugar-coating and called him a devil child who wouldnt grow up to be anything but trouble unless he started acting like a normal effing human being. But thats why I dont have kinds.

And just a quick note about the girl

The only time she really spoke was to ask her mother a question about using "---" in books. The other time was to come up to me and ask if I had read the book "heidi" and if I had liked it. Amazing kid.
