Gay Villages

Those of you who live in the bigger cities, does your area have a Gay Village or Gay District?  If so, could you guys toss a link my way, if it has one.   Some friends of mine here are trying to get GLBT people talking about starting one here.    If your gay village has a website, it might also have some historical information on how it got started.  And if you could put in a few words about your gay village, I would appreciate it.  My buddies are also wanting to get some kind of GLBT Chamber of Commerce started, too.  I did some research myself and noticed that most cities with an establish GLBT Chamber of Commerce, also seem to have prominent or prosperous gay districts.

Any info would be welcome.
