wow, i remember a time when i would be able to update at least once a day. those days are long gone and will be for quite some time. i am aggressively gunning for a position as an international peer advisor with our asia university america program. so far, things appear to be in my favor. i was talking with the woman who does the hiring, nikki, and my references & objectives seemed to surpass those of my peers. also, my extensive leadership background should play a critical role as well. getting this job would mean that i would have to work summer quarter this year, but that's not too bad. it means that i could be around 12 credits closer to my chem major, or i could focus on my minor or gen ed. requirements. either way, i am 12 credits ahead of all the rest of you fuckers, so HA! i'll keep u all posted on how things turn out.
and what else? hrm...my academics committee is starting strong this quarter. again, i am being very aggressive in making sure that people attend MY meetings. this was a constant problem last quarter and i am not going to play that game again. in short, if you don't show up to my meetings, you will get to know me really well, because i will be calling you constantly. rhlc is going down a similar path. we have acquired 2 new members and i am going to make sure that people (including myself) are acutally doing their jobs. we should have hall hoodies in a matter of weeks. this is going to be a great accomplishment, considering that we have been working on this since...oh...october? yeah. that's right.
school is going well. i am tearing up my chem class (despite being gone twice in the same week) and psych is going well too. time to focus more energy on humanities, though. i have been dr. stacy's bitch during the last 2 quizzes and now it's time for him to taste a little sack as well.
my parents ARE moving to seattle. this is going to be accomplished on 14 feb. kinda excited to get back into the city and sad that i am leaving bainbridge. however, i am TOTALLY greatful for what the island has made of me and for what i have made of the island. bainbridge made my who i am today, and i am eternally greatful for that. things would not have been the same if i had stayed in seattle. not even close. i pride myself with starting a diversity program and an animal wellfare program at the high school as well as totally reversing the journalism program (a good thing). i made some of the best friends i have ever had and also learned A LOT about myself. furthermore, i also believe that bainbridge high school (while a cliquey hell) did a lot to condition me for college level work. i talk to friends who have never had to take notes before now (and consequentially suck balls at it) and have never experienced the rigor associated with collegiate work. bhs, you are more of a college prep school than a high school. all the same, you did me well. thanks.
and that's about it. i have a leadership retreat tonight in the SUB and an interview on monday for my IPA position. wish me luck.
