Kobato newtype calendar illustration
This is a scan of the 2011 Newtype calendar Kobato illustration. Oh, it is so beautiful~ Angel-Kobato and Kobato-Kobato together! And we finally get to see Angel Kobato's robes in colour! I love the gold, it works very well. This is a really nicely coloured illustration. And the art style is really soft, more like the art used in chobits (as somone else pointed out). It really is such a lovely illustration. When I heard 'calendar illustration' I didn't get excited as I was expecting another typical, boring illustration like the use for the manga covers (sorry CLAMP, but they seriously aren't that good), but this picture is really beautiful! Two beautiful calender illustrations in a week, first Hoshi wa Utau, and now Kobato ^.^ It really has made my day ^^ It's just a pity that XXXHolic isn't doing a calendar illustration.
Looking at this illustration I was thinking that Kobato must be approaching it's conclusion. I mean, the mystery behind Kobato has been revealed, and the whole Kobato confronting Okiura - Fujimoto realising his feelings and chasing after her thing feels like 'the finale'. I don't think that CLAMP have announced anything, but I do think that Kobato is moving towards it's conclusion. I have little idea how it will end though. But I do hope Kobato will stay with Fujimoto. And I want to know who Iryogi really is - the fact that they are purposefully obscuring his face makes me think that he may be another worlds version of a character from a previous CLAMP work. He makes me think of Kurogane. I'm not saying that it is him though.
I wonder when the next chapter is out? I look foward to finding out what will happen next.
