Scarlett 11/29/91---10/23/04

Finally found Scarlett curled up peacefully in her bed, but not asleep. Vayas con Dios, Mija.

Scarlett Memories:
As a puppy, she was terrified of the squeaky toy "Dirty Bird," esp. when it sqeaked! She'd run around it in big circles, barking, but wouldn't come within 6 feet of it. Dirty Bird later became her favorite toy for games of fetch.

She didn't shed her puppy teeth, and had two sets of canines until they were surgically removed at about 5 or 6 years old. Bill said her body wt was 90% teeth. Fizzgig!

She ate a 1/2 # box of Godiva chocolates and was horribly sick. Couple of days later, when she was getting her appetite back, the cat was playing with something, and Scarlett ran over to see what it was, and turned away in absolute disgust. It was a chocolate she'd missed the first time around.

She jumped off a second story balcony while we were staying with a friend. I was in the courtyard below, calling the cat, and she apparently thought I was calling her. She was fine, don't ask me how.

Bill and her were always getting into it. We'd be on the couch in the evenings, Bill watching TV, me reading a book with Scarlett lying next to me. I'd hear her growl, and look up, and Bill would be just innocently watching TV. It would happen over and over until I'd look up in time to catch Bill making faces at Scarlett. A similar game when we'd sleep in on weekends: Bill would reach over to tickle me and Scarlett would leap to my rescue, all 800 teeth bared, barking like mad.
