My cat just emerged from a cupboard looking guilty. While it's no secret that I don't love her as much as I love my dog (I can't lie about this), I really appreciate how she can be found in the most ridiculous and surprising places. I once found her in a mostly shut dresser drawer. Another time she was was sleeping on the stove. I often find her in the 6 inch crack between my bed and my wall. You get the idea. It's a bit difficult to articulate what her life is like, other than the simple fact that, as an indoor cat, she sleeps about 23 hours a day.
Anyway, life is wierd right now. I'm moving out of my parent's house for my last month or so in Vancouver, for two reasons:
1) My brothers are disgusting.
2) I need "me" time.
Around the end of June I was feeling so, so good. Everything was effing amazing and I was just so jazzed about the world. Then, in the course of about 2 days, I totalled my bike, broke my arm (by way of totalling my bike), found out I need to get a root canal, lost my job, and experienced a number of minor disappointments which led to a sizeable downer on my part for the next couple of weeks. Now, with the cast off my arm, the knowledge that I'm getting crunk tonight, the anticipation of moving out on Saturday, and the pride in knowing that I'm trying to make art, I'm feeling much, much better. A new leaf has turned over. So, as a result, I'm going to characteristically make a couple lists!
Things to Accomplish from now till September:
-make thousands and thousands of dollars by making paintings and selling them.
-writie and send more letters.
-read inspiring and challenging works of literature.
-watch less MTV Canada and Much More Music.
-take long baths.
-start riding my bike everywhere again (YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!)
-make contact and re-befriend people that I like a lot but never seem to find time to see.
-go swimming more.
-go on trips to visit friends who live slightly out of reach.
-eat so much good fruit (cherries cherries cherries and bluebs).
-keep making crafts!
-cook dinner for all the beautiful people.
Top Fruits:
1) Cherries: FLAVOUR EXPLOSION!
2) Blueberries
3) Apples
4) Mangoes
5) Grapes
6) Strawberries
7) Oranges
8) Apricots
9) Bananas
10) Honeydew...a close tie to Watermelon, which also receives an honourable mention, but has failed because it stained my favourite shirt yesterday. For shame!
Go summer!
