Wow, hey.
Livejournal, what's been up these past months?
Today, as I was watching my daily dose of the Cosby Show while eating all-bran, I heard the dull thump of the mail hitting our front entrance and went to go get it. Two things came for me. One was the letter that I'd sent to Kristina, in a plastic bag, with instructions on how not to send mail. Oops. I'll begrudgingly send that out again tomorrow, so please forgive me Kristina for the now rather dated letter you're about to recieve in the mail. The other piece of paper was a letter from Revenue Canada telling me about the results of my tax return, but, characteristic to my life lately, there was no actual cheque inside. WTF.
Anyway, long in the short of it, SEND ME YOUR ADDRESSES and I, in return, will send you this address back on an envelope containing fun things like foreign currency, feathers, and letters!
Now, I think I'll make a list of all the things which are so, so great in my life right now!
1)My dog, and how spectacular and smart he is. Today he actually curled right up in my lap and pointed his nose at my face, smiling. I melted. He also pulls my covers off my bed to wake me up in the morning.
2)My new bike. Which is actually an old bike, my father's to be precise. Even though it's fairly common to hear about bike riders being flipped over bridges or hit by buses in this city, it is also the best and most beautiful way to get around. Hence, I have decided to make it my day-off mission to fix my Dad's bike and start riding it everywhere. I even bought a new helmet and a "homey" bell, which, if you tap his hand on his little metal baseball hat, will make the most charming little "ding ding" sound.
3)Vancouver. This city is so all-encompassing and amazing. I won't hear anything bad about it. The other day, as I was going over the bridge on the bus and taking in the sunset by my favourite view of the city, a Japanese language student turned to me and said, "This sky, so bruteful. This city, so cruel (but I think she meant beautiful and cool)". I nearly wept.
4)Food! Delicious, as always. I've become really lazy about cooking, so, despite my tight budget, I have taken to eating out all the time which is always surprising. My particular favourite right now is the all-you-can-eat fondue place, where, for about 5 dollars, you can eat chocolate dipped strawberries and pieces of steamed brocolli in cheese to your heart's content.
5)Crunching on boys.
Okay, I've got to make some dinner for my hungry brothers.
