So I thought it was muck itch/rain rot... but now I'm not so sure. it seems to come off really easily and Jeze's bugged by it- but it's going away almost on it's own so soon without any really dramatic hair loss... Or maybe it's just that Calm Coat is a miracle ointment.
I found a really WEIRD scabby patch on her under belly. a perfect circle, REALLY nasty. I think she was attacked by flies under there.
I also noticed that the back of her right hind leg was COVERED in nastty scabby patches that I never noticed before until I oiled her down with the calm coat then pulled them all off. some bled, some didn't she didn't seem to mind either way.
Tomorrow I'll be going back out there to groom her. I bathed her today is 64 degree weather & she shivered like a baby even under her rugs so I'm going to wait to bathe her again until it's warm out. It's supposed to drop into the 30s tonight. brr... We turned the heat on in the barn after cleaning out all the ducts. What a work out! I'm thinking about putting a heat lamp up on her stall door just to keep her happy since she failed to grow a winter coat this year. Poor baby.
She's officially going to be bred to Three Chips. I'll probably breed her in either February or March & show baby as a weanling in halter. It's been awhile since I had a foal on the ground so I'm trying to make the best decisions possible for them both.
OH! I'm going to be showing Jezebel this spring and summer until she gets too round to be overly pretty in the Western Pleasure ring, lol. She's not a peanut roller so I doubt we'll do too well. She's nice & neat & natural. Makes me happy.
