and courtesy has gone the way of the dodo! At least on lakes it's true. If any of you have small children and take them fishing, or boating in general, please point out these unwritten rules to them and pound them home at an early age so they don't grow up to be the ingrates that I threatened to bludgeon with oars, anchors and their own amputated ( Read more... )

1.) Hear ya. Took my son fishing last Tuesday, caught three little perch between us. Luckily, I know of a few quiet spots on our lake, and we were bothered by anyone.

2.) People are eff-ing retarded when it comes to respecting water. There's just too much noise, too much gasoline being burnt, and too much alcohol being consumed. I had to call an ambulance this weekend because some drunk couple was flying up and down the lake at 50 or more m.p.h., and the boat lost control. Girl broke her arm and dislocated her hip; the guy seemed okay, but beat up.

3.) I call the people that spend all their time out on the lake lakies. Did I mention I don't like the lakies.

Please, accept my apology for all the stupid people that ruined your weekend.

and yes, people are incredibly stupid when it comes to water--i'll drink to that! pass me the ski tow line, would ya?

LOL... ok, take that back--I'm definately NOT a lakie! hehehe... you had me busted at 'caring about appearance' hehehe, you should SEE my camo fishing outfit =))

BUT... i now understand what a lakie is and not only have i seen them, they were overrunning the campground and beach area--especially the little group of older fashion victim women that gossiped while sunning themselves like beached trophy wives =))

I agree! You forgot to mention the idiots on the jet skis who zoom around and around the boat. We were on Grindstone Lake and had several boats following us around. We weren't catching anything either, but they must have thought we were.... we even moved several times just to see, and yep they followed us. Isn't fishing fun?
