[Dr. Horrible is standing in front of a crowded laboratory table. He's building something that looks like a cross between a metallic hardhat and a torture device. There might be electrodes involved. Also, near the camera there's a jar with what appears to be an actual human brain inside. Dr. Horrible is savagely twisting at a few bolts ( Read more... )

sounds kind of suspicious, brain-slug detector, emma woodhouse, dinosaurs, not making sense, library, captain hammer, karrin murphy, angry

What exactly are you trying to test?

[ooc: *SOB* I'M SORRY, BILLY!]

Just something I'm making for a friend. A type of scanner. Nothing very interesting.

Is it some kind of MRI?

No...it looks for a very specific type of anomaly. Or it should. I'm not done yet.

And I don't really have an example to go off of.

What sort of anomaly?

I'm a medical doctor; I have an interest in these things.

Well, it's not exactly medical. At least unless you practice some pretty unusual medicine. Which maybe you do, I don't know.

But I'm making it for someone else, and I probably shouldn't be talking even this much about it to anyone else.

I've seen some very bizarre phenomena in my work.

I'm sorry; I didn't mean to pry into anything confidential.

Really? That's interesting. How bizarre is bizarre where you're from?

Well, normally I love to talk about all my latest plans and inventions.

I worked on the X-Files, investigating so-called paranormal phenomena. I've seen everything from creatures which appear to have evolved from flukeworms to creatures which appear to be extraterrestrial. However, I was never able to find conclusive proof that they were what they appeared to be.

I would be very interested in hearing more about your research. I'm currently working on plans to start some experiments of my own.

Huh, that's really interesting. I mean, obviously a lot of people are from dimensions where aliens and such are real, even common. Mine has people with superpowers, but no clear evidence of aliens.

There are a lot of scientists in the city it seems. Which is cool, but unfortunately the city is so...magical, that trying to look at things scientifically can be hard. But there's a really big laboratory here.

There's no clear evidence that aliens are real in my dimension, either, no matter what Mulder says.

Really? Where?

It's towards the edge of the city, between buildings 1 and 2. My friend Carl spends a lot of time there too. It's got almost everything you could ever want, but...the elevator is kind of weird.

Weird how?

The controls don't actually do anything. It just takes you to a floor. I think the same floor each time. Which is okay unless you try to take the elevator with someone else. Carl and I tried that and...yeah, not doing that again.
