So what have I been up to lately?
Oh, I don't know. Working a great deal.
I bought a bike, and am often biking to work, which is good (much needed) exercise for me. My previous bike was a pretty, shiny, onespeed I bought b/c it looked cool. I called my brother, listened to him suggesting various $700 bikes, thought about it, took his advice, scaled it back a bit, and ended up with a quite satisfactory trek navigator. Aside from the gears (i'd forgotten how nice gears were!), my favorite feature is the seat shock. Comfy.
Chris and I are moving into a two bedroom in the same complex we live in now. So that'll be LOVELY. "Two bedroom?" you ask, "Are you two broken up?" no, not a bit. We just need a bit more space. So the second bedroom will become the computer room, and we'll be able to move my queen bed over from dad's house, and, generally, life will be good. This is doubly cool, as we won't have to move far from our friends... i'll still be able to get to zach's in about 30 seconds.
Other cool things about the apartment:
Central air (vs. window air in current apartment)
Front and back door
$50 cheaper a month, compared to the other 2bedrooms (still like $100 more than the current place)
We move july 3ish. This'll be interesting, just given the proximity to Important Family Holidays (we LOOOVE to blow stuff up in our family)
Speaking of 4th of july, this year is bound to be interesting. I don't know which of my cousins are coming up... if any... which is kinda bullshit. I enjoy our family 4ths, for sure. But as i'm growing up, i'm wanting to move on to my own activities. Last year I suggested I might get a year off, as i've been going to the family thing for 19 years (minus a year i was returning from australia, and even then we stopped by, late, after our plane got in). I was told that i had to be there. The Kansas City kids (my cousins) will probably just ask to be left behind, on some pretense or another, and allowed. If i'm the only kid... well, grrr.
Plus, i'll just be living down the street. Sure, in years past, I'd lived on campus, but always, come summer, I was back home. I remember the summer my sister lived in these same apartments. I suppose, even if i do have to go, it'll be easy to stop home for a moment or two.
Went to the Davinci code with pudenz recently. No comment.
Finally finished "Electric Koolaid Acid Test'"... interesting from the point of view of "my father was part of the scene". Odd, yeah, that's it.
I don't know, i'm getting bored of writing, so i'll post this before it ends up sitting on my desktop for days, until i fially just delete it.
