Greek Mythology in English? If only. My class is doing Othello, and when my teacher asks for different readings of the main villain, Iago, all I can think of is that he's in love with Othello, the guy who's life he totally ruins. Blame Freud.

I don't know how they'd take that as an answer to your essay, but personally? I'd write it, simply because it's the truth. Do you know anything about how conservative they'd be? If you do, that'd be worth thinking about.

Othello's really interesting. ^^

I really want to write the essay about my coming out but the school is pretty conservative and managed by Jesuit priests.

It is, thankfully my teacher is fairly interesting to listen to when she talks about it. (Now if this guy would just shut up and let her talk!)

Hmm, in that case, as much as I really think it should be an acceptable topic for your essay, it's probably not the best thing to do. If they're conservative it may blind them to the actual writing of the essay and they may focus on what they may consider to be inappropriate.

If they are conservative they I would suggest against it, only do so if you really really cannot find anything else to do.

The (possible) conservative assholes in this world make life very difficult.

Thanks for the advice! Now, I'd better start thinking of other alternative topics...
