I went out shopping today, and I got Rashid to tag along. It turns out that I'll be having a very busy weekend ahead of me, and I'll have to be dressed at my best. Also, I'm getting really worn out by my wardrobe. It makes me feel as if I haven't shopped in ages. When it's only been 6 months. Anyway, it's been long since I walked into a clothing store.
Headed to Tampines 1 with him and stopped by Topman, Uniqlo and some random stores in the vicinity. Got myself this pair of beige trousers from Uniqlo which was really nice and not to mention, cheap. I finally managed to get my hands on a hooded vest, too, but it was really costly. I think it was around $40.
Anyway, we thought we had some time in our hands, so we decided to go to Bugis to look around. Browsed around Topman, Adidas, Converse, and... the Apple store & Gramophone. Ironically, Bugis is a hot spot for youths, but surprisingly, they don't sell a lot of attractive clothes for teens. Essentially, I got nothing there but a pair of sore legs.
Went to look around at Orchard next. Stopped by at ION Orchard and browsed Topman & Uniqlo yet again. The branches of the stores there are huge. Saw something at Topman which made Rashid laugh like an idiot. Really, I wonder how Topman's ever gonna sell their tees when they have crazy slogans on them, namely "Ice Ice Baby". They sell nice glasses and berets, though. Anyway, I browsed three Topman stores today and got nothing. So much for thinking that I was able to get my shopping done as soon as possible.
Strolled along the upper levels of the mall, and walked into a store that was pretty much vacated. I eventually knew the reason why. I saw this T-shirt which I thought was really nice, and I tried it on. I was going to buy it, until I saw its price tag... $105. Since when did casual wear become a form of luxury?
Walked into another store on the same level, too, and I was checking out the price of a collared shirt. $210. I was finally convinced that shopping in the city is indeed a scary thing.
Until I came across this store called PULL & BEAR. They sell great graphic tees. That's one thing. And their prices aren't as unreasonable as those of the previous stores'. In fact, most of their tees cost below $30. That's another. That store became my personal miracle.
Headed to Wheelock Place after all the shopping was done to chill out at Borders. I then made one last visit to the Nike store to see if there were any bottles which were on sale. But there weren't. Which was quite... astonishing.
Had a late dinner with Rashid at Eastpoint's Banquet after a long afternoon. And a stomachache which nearly killed me.
I've never shopped without parental guidance, until today. And honestly, it was quite fun. Though I'm not going to shop again anytime soon. :/
