writing the character centered screenplay

i've spent too many hours staring at test patterns
in zoned out apathy
waiting for some new meaning
to come thru
before i change my mind
but this is not a test
the emergency alert system
is sounding for real
it's tones centered in my skull
as the thoughts resound it
reveleaing the absurdity of their
meaningless repetition
as i no longer
get lost in the carnival of thought
and take center stage in
the three ring circus of
the holy trinity
