Obit for Peggy

I don't know if this is acceptable internet etiquette or not, so if it's not, somebody tell me and I will unpost it, but I guess it is online on the Tribune anyway. I think I will go ahead and take out her daughters' names, just because.

Peggy Jo Stewart Rogers 1949 ~ 2007 Peggy Jo Stewart Rogers passed away on Wednesday, 21 November, 2007, after a brave three year struggle with ocular melanoma cancer. Peggy was joyfully welcomed into this world on 28 December, 1949 by her parents Gerald Osmond Stewart and Lois Featherstone Stewart. From the start, her life theme was personal learning and public education. Among her many scholastic accomplishments, she was an Honor Society member and National Merit Scholar at Highland High School. She attended the University of Utah and the University of Washington, receiving BA diplomas in English and in Russian (both Magna Cum Laude), MA degrees in English and in Russian and an elementary education degree. She completed two several-month language study programs at Leningrad State University in the then USSR. Peggy worked ten years teaching gifted and talented students for the Salt Lake School District. She also taught many Community School courses. Peggy married Keith Layne Rogers on 21 December, 1985 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They settled in the Canyon Rim area where they raised two daughters, A E and A C. Peggy participated in the great majority of her daughters' education by home schooling them. Peggy's last request was for a small, private memorial service. Those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to make a donation to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City in lieu of flowers. Peggy wished to particularly thank Dr. James Carlisle, MD, and Julie Smit, APRN, at the HCI. Their compassion and great professional competence gave her several months of nearly normal life beyond what is expected for her terrible disease. Peggy is survived by her parents, husband, and daughters. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
