new year's tradition, v.2010

Dec 28, 2011 00:01

Found while cleaning my drafts and preparing for this year's! Didn't get to post it in time for last year, but better late than never I suppose.

I know it's not always very healthy to look back, but this was a great trip down memory lane. Despite everything, I am still so very thankful. 2010--good, bad, and everything in between--was quite a year. :)

*******

What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
rode an elephant and held a tiger

saw an F1 race live

played agawang buko (HAHA), went on an Amazing Race in Nueva Ecija, mothered an egg, and battled in Bel Field

lived alone in a foreign land (!), traveled 1000+ miles by land (and survived to tell the tale), did my own laundry for four months!, rode a roller coaster 7 times, etcetc... basically took on my Junior Term Abroad in beautiful Singapore :)

Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Stop being kupal hahaha be more sensitive and eat healthier. -- God, I fail at these. Although I do think I did become nicer to some extent? Hahaha but eating healthier, definitely not. I really should learn to make better ones.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.

Did anyone close to you die?
No.

What countries did you visit?
Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand! :)

LOL no actual Malaysia picture because we barely spent time there--but that's Jean and I on the five-hour bus ride (with the awesome massage chairs) that took us there.

What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?

Optimism, fortitude, focus, perseverance, passion, patience and wisdom.

What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 1 (the day I left), December 14 (the day I went home), March 6, January 16... I wish I kept track of the rest but since I didn't keep a planner this year everything is a mess haha.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting a good rank for JTA + the complete scholarship for the whole five months :) and hey, gotta say, we formed a pretty solid group:

Kicking MKT101's ass was a SOLID achievement :> :>

What was your biggest failure?
Math 151 pretty much broke me. (At sige, isama na rin ang Global Megatrends with Frank Siegfried, what a downer. HAHA.)

Did you suffer illness or injury?
In Nueva Ecija, I gained a permanent scar on my right foot. I sprained the same foot a few months later RIGHT when I got to Singapore.

...gross. HAHA.

What was the best thing you bought?
...

Whose behavior merited celebration?
Kristal, because we were able to successfully turn our lives around during the latter part of JTA Sem HAHA. I'm proud of us! Also, JP, Faja, EJ and the rest of the Katipunan people for effectively ruining my life!

i. happier or sadder? -- "So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be."
ii. thinner or fatter? -- Fatter. Weighed myself before I left SG and it was disheartening. Babuyan all the way while I was there and even while I was still in Katip -_- damn you McDonald's fries and coke floats
