Between the End of Summer and the Beginning of Fall

I thought it would be appropriate to post here again now that summer is over.

Summer... was... wonderful...

Yet...

Summer... was... different...

There were no days of endless hours of video games. I think I only played video games a total of five times all summer. There were long nights of fun with friends though. Not enough... but what's enough when it comes to those moments? There was some sleeping in and staying out but not as much as I thought due to lots of hours at work and lots of hours devoted to training for my ocean swim in November.

But summer was still amazing. I got to read. I found new bookstores to venture through. I swam in the ocean several times and laying on the beach for a few hours a week became a staple of my weeks. I spent some days at the park. Some nights watching anime and new movies. I had two mini-breaks... one in Lancaster with Jason and the Coachella boys and another in Santa Barbara with Nikki from work and Jackie and Pom Pom. Saw Broken Social Scene live... where I saw the man I want to marry in the band. :) Went to a few parties at the Ahmad's. Went to Skateland with Eustolia from work. Spent several evenings having conversations with several friends... our talks were the kind that grow so long and deep that they convince you that you can change the world.

So like I said... Summer was different. Yet it was wonderful. And now Fall is different too. I'm meeting people at school and feeling more and more at home there. I'm working about 30 hours a week and training five times a week. So I'm busy... more busy than I ever have been in my life.

I'm weary and wonderful.

So I say a fond farewell as I stand on summer's edge...

My arms are wide open... ready to welcome Fall.

Welcome Change. Have a seat. We have A LOT of catching up to do. :)

Wow. I did a lot.
