Weird things happening lately ...
Giovanni greeted us with open windows last weekend. Nothing was stolen, only one of the seats was a bit wet due to the rain. And he still drives perfectly well. We have no explanation for this. Neither for how the police got a hold of my brother's workphone number. Mysterious, mysterious ... well, thank goodness everything's fine. That car drove us through half the country last week and survived one of my cousins driving attempts which resulted in Giovanni losing his left side mirror. No worries, though, we already got that fixed. I just need to get him to the painter now, but I'll do that as soon as I have more money in my bank account to disburse the paint job.
The holiday was lovely. We visited my cousins in
Hamburg and then
drove to
Berlin to spend some time with my other brother. My boyfriend might be a bit shocked by the sheer number of relatives I have, though ... :) Anyway, we ate a lot (and by a lot, I mean a lot: we went to a Greek restaurant [twice], to a Chinese restaurant, had waffles and pancakes and
cakes and ice cream, my cousin brought us
breakfast to bed on bf's birthday \o/, drank
espresso and more
cappu than is probably healthy ... [we also stopped for cheeseburgers
here -- the burgers were delicious, but still ...]), defeated gender stereotypes when I dragged bf to a comic book shop so I could get my hands at the awesomeness that is the
Hawkeye comic by Matt Fraction (gotta love Clint's humor), went to the
Jewish museum in
Berlin, wrote
postcards, walked
around quite a lot,
enjoyed the amazing weather, and met up with one of my best friends as well. I also won my very first game of
Risk and tried to play badminton.
Today I went to work only to discover that the small shopping mall the bakery's in is shut down due to blackout. We probably won't get electricity back this week, so that sucks (I removed the nail polish yesterday for work [not the nail polish I wore yesterday, but still
worth a look, I think]! I got up really early today for work!). We'll have a team meeting later, let's see how that goes.
