I'm not saying he was a brilliant actor, I'm not saying he was a terrible actor, but I did enjoy quite a few films he was in.

EDIT: Yes it was apparently drugs. No it wasn't recreational. According to current news it was an accidental o-d with sleeping pills he was taking due to being so stressed out he couldn't sleep.
