(1) Lit. "painful chest" --> broken heart.
(2) Kazeatari literally means a strong wind blowing against something and this is what I believe the song interprets it as but it also nods to the other meaning of 'being subject to outside pressures/criticism)
(3) "I'll protect you" is something lots of Japanese guys say when they start dating/really love a girl. This may seem weird to us because we usually get a "I love you, baby!" but the Japanese are a bit more discrete with flat out expressing these feelings. So what I meant to say is that this is the equivalent of "I love you."
(4) Yes, I know 'tsuyoku' means strong, but 'strongly embrace'? Kinda awkward, so I did 'tightly.'
