Top 5 favourite characters to write
Tough one! I'll narrow it down, though. No particular order:
1. Spike. Sometimes he (or, rather, his loudest fans) annoyed me, but he's always fun to write. Anyone who enjoys taking the piss out of the Good Guys is, no matter how beloved the Good Guys may be to you.
2. Jack in his DW days. Just fun, fun, fun--all playful vanity and innuendo with genuine sweetness underneath, but never forget how dangerous he can be. It's a great mix to play with.
3. Methos. The thing I said about Spike? Yeah, he did the thing Methos perfected. Given that Joss loved HL, I can't believe Spike wasn't influenced by Methos on some level. Ancient, enigmatic, a bit annoying, someone you can never completely know--gee, sounds like a Doctor we all know and love.
4. The whole Firefly crew. I love the language Joss created for them, and the variety within it. It's so much fun to think of how they might say things. There's a rhythm and poetry to Mal's speech, in particular, that I absolutely love.
5. Anya. Delightful. She's the kind of character who might say absolutely anything, and that just never gets dull.

The top 5 people from other fandoms that Methos met in the course of his lifetime.
1. Death of the Endless. Repeatedly. They're old friends. Only the very ancient Immortals can remember Death after they've come back to life, and little as Methos likes being killed, he truly enjoys their little chats. But he's not ready to take that long walk with her just yet.
2. Darla and Drusilla. Yes, he was *that* Immortal. He does get bored, and annoying the unliving hell out of vampires via a threesome with their women was really quite diverting.
3. Jack Harkness, again, repeatedly, and confusingly out of order. They finally got their mutual timeline straightened out over beers sometime in the 1980s. Then they had sex.
4. The Doctor, in every incarnation. He particularly liked Two, but he and Seven never did get along.
5. Guinan. They have some good times and remind each other of the benefits of being so long-lived. It would get entirely too dull without friends.

Top five crossover guest lecturers at OBAFU
1. Harry Dresden on "Wizards, Wyldfae and Waldo Butters: What to Watch for in the Windy City." He's crap at organizing lectures, but the students love him and I get to babysit Mouse, so it's all good.
2. Captain Jack Harkness on "The Ins and Outs (if you get what I'm sayin') of the Cardiff Rift." Then he got banned from campus after making an indecent proposal to the Finns and attempting to organize a campus orgy. Owen drew the short stick the following year. Afterward, a petition was circulated suggesting (in somewhat rude language) that he be banned as well. Gwen then volunteered, and it's been smooth sailing ever since.
3. The Doctor on "Why London Is an Extraterrestrial Magnet." The particular incarnation varies from year to year. I like One the best. He doesn't take any crap from the students, and unlike some of his later incarnations, doesn't cause hormonal hysteria on campus. Though I do rather like it when it's Nine's turn.
4. Agent Kay from MiB stops by once a year to lecture on the distinctions between legitimate extraterrestrials living on Earth and demons. Very informative.
5. We usually get a guest lecturer from Hogwarts as well. McGonagall and Hermione are the best at actually staying on subject.
