Deadpan bleepings were almost painfully obvious to some. A heart monitor. The view was complicated but the sign could be read if their communicator was flipped around. It read;

[It has been simply too much to bear, seeing the once former First Class in such a wretched way. Trying to swallow the rage was by no means an easy feat, but he did just that. Kadaj could be dealt with later. All that mattered presently was Angeal and his wellbeing. A deceptively cool gaze lingered over the injuries, successfully masking concern. It would do no well to have Angeal see him in such a state. After all, he had to be strong and in control...especially now. Falling apart would come later behind closed doors ( ... )

[It had been two weeks. It felt like a month with just about how little sleep he had gotten. The bags under his eyes were surprisingly dark, well, at least the bags under his left eye --as his right was nothing but black and a sickening ring of yellow-green. And it was hard on him, to again be around Genesis, in a poor condition. The first was of his own foolish and childish mistakes but this time it was because of the idea of protecting what was dear to him. His friends. His family. He wasn't sure what to think whenever these attacks happened. It wasn't like before, there was no blood and nothing to choke on. It was constriction. A grip around his throat that wouldn't let go unless that clear mask was over his mouth and nose, giving him pure oxygen ( ... )

[Though he was a man of many complexities - now more so than ever, Genesis knew that if there was one person who possessed the ability to shift through all those layers, then it was Angeal. Ah, it was both frustrating and comforting. Though this told him him he wasn't too far gone to be understood, a darker side questioned whether such a thing was actually possible. Especially now, considering what had happened between them all ( ... )

[It would never matter to Angeal how far his friends fell. He would to whatever he could as long as it needed it to be done. And if they wanted the help. He would never bring it up in annoyance to them, but casually, as an offering. Angeal was always there for whoever needed his help. He wouldn't turn his back. But there were always going to be some that he held higher than others. Those from his world he knew best. He would always keep the offers he gave to them longer, make the memories more memorable in hopes they would let him help them. And if they wanted nothing to do with him, well...

He didn't flinch at Genesis' movements at his bad eye. Angeal sat docile. He liked to think he knew his friend; his intentions. At least in general. It was all these new complexities that had him confused and seeking questions that ended in unfinished and suddenly dropped conversations. It hurt him, like it hurt Genesis when he couldn't do something for Angeal, probably just as much if not a tad more.]

[As if Sephiroth would stay away from his friend at a time like this. Duty be damned, he marched past hospital staff and other people alike, his wing stiff and feathers ruffled, a certain gauntness around his eyes and along his jaw speaking of just how much he had been neglecting himself. His trademark coat was missing, as was the shoulder guards, and his hair was still in the thousand tiny braids, although someone had taken the time to add multi-colored bows at the ends of them. Against the black leather and too-tight shirt he was wearing, the ribbons looked odd. Not that he would admit to that.

He stepped inside the room like he was meant to be there, and headed straight for the injured man.]

Angeal.

[The moment was serious, he knew that. That's what hospitals were all about. Taking care of the sick, healing those who needed it, for the grieving to visit and deepen such feelings. Angeal had never seen Sephiroth in braids. Many a time without his coat and guards, sure. But this was a sight. With ribbons. While parts wanted to burst out laughing, others were screaming. He was mixed with a friendship he cherished and the horror that did so scare him while captive.

And the fact he was practically hooked up to a polygraph machine didn't help. His heart rate went up a few steps as the man walked into the room and made his way to him. He calmed himself, somehow, and decided to take a the coy path out of his fears. Truth-based humor.]

Sephiroth--.. [Then he backed out when he saw the seriousness in the youngers eyes. His pulse, again, rose.]

[He was used to beeping machines, to the way they acted when hooked up to a person. Sephiroth ignored the machine's beeping until he noticed that Angeal looked... wary. Sephiroth stopped, eyebrows furrowing as he tried to read what was going on with the older man.]

Angeal... what's wrong?

[He wasn't faking the concern, nor was he faking the way he looked from the older man in the bed to Genesis hovering nearby.]

[There was a light laugh as he looked away for a moment. He looked back, thinking maybe another look would wash his mind from what was trying to vaguely replay. --It didn't. The smile fought its way on and off his face many times. He was finding it harder to keep himself composed every second.]

It's nothing, Sep-Sephiroth. I'm fine. Just tired. It's been a long two weeks.

Aerith made her way through the hospital, looking for Angeal's room. Finding it, she knocked gently before entering, surprised to see both Sephiroth and Genesis visiting as well. "Hi!" she beamed brightly, trying not to look at Sephiroth too long.

She was trying not to laugh, although it was difficult. Going straight towards Angeal, she dimmed her smile a little, although she was still obviously happy to see him. "How are you feeling?" she asked, slipping a bag from behind her back, which had concealed a pair of scissors.

WELL HEY. WELCOME. honoreverything August 16 2009, 01:00:23 UTC
"I'm alright, all things considered." Angeal nodded at her. "Yourself?" he noticed the bag she had, and realizing what it was.

Having Aerith there seemed to calm him down about having Sephiroth here. Maybe with her in the room, he could relax a little more around. Well, keep his memories and emotions down, that is.

Aerith nodded, and placed a hand on Angeal's shoulder, sitting next to him on the bed. "I've been doing well, thanks," she wasn't oblivious to the tension in the room, but Aerith was hoping that she could make it lessen somewhat. Looking at Sephiroth, she couldn't hold back a giggle, but didn't say anything. Obviously he hadn't noticed yet, or he would have done something already.

He shook his head at her laughing. "That's good to hear. Come to cut my hair have you?"

[ That video helped as Zack made his way to the hospital, though he had to half wonder if Genesis would even let him in the room--No. He had to get in there. Something happened and he wasn't here to help Angeal, and..

He needed to apologize. To see him.

Only hesitating for a moment outside the hospital doors before rushing in, Angeal could hear those familiar scrambling footsteps echoing in the hallways as the student frantically searched for him. ]

[A sigh. At least he was healed before Zack showed up. So he didn't have to see the scars, the wounds that marked him what he was. Aerith had cut his hair and he looked more like what he was than ever. His build was back and he was ... physically healthy. Granted his voice was a little torn still, from the acid rain, but that was because he wouldn't let Sephiroth's Restore completely work.

But that was something Zack didn't need to know. At least he wasn't going to share openly. If Zack asked, he would only get an outline. Nothing vivid. He intended not to worry his student. And while he didn't know why Zack was pulled back home, but he got to relax. He wasn't going to worry him anymore than he already did.

He heard Zack popping in and out of rooms, calling for Angeal. He was far off, and had a way to go it seemed even though he was already on the third floor. With a grunt, Angeal took a breath then sighed it out again, scratching his head.] Zack. Three thirty-two. [He tried to boom his voice like before, at ShinRa. What he was used ( ... )

[ That voice boomed, and Zack let out a relieved wide smile. That's definitely Angeal, the first class SOLDIER, his mentor. Shaking his head to snap out of the little pause he did, he turned and ran out of the room he had just stepped into, and jogged further down the hall.

It probably would have been worse if he had seen any of the scars and pain that Angeal had gone through, but with Angeal not telling him, the evidence healed, and possibly no one else telling him...Zack would remain oblivious, unfortunately.

Those footsteps stopped outside the door and Zack let out a breath he had been holding in, and rested his hand on the door. The memories made him stop from bursting in, however, and there was a small thunk of his forehead hitting the door, keeping it closed for now. ]

...Angeal?

[ He was coming down from the adrenaline rush that Angeal was here, he was behind this very door, he was alive and breathing ( ... )

[-- was he waiting outside? Why was he waiting outside? He told Angeal how badly he wanted to see him, so what was the point of standing out there? Once he heard Zack's tone, well, it made sense then. There was another sigh.]

You can come in, Zack. You don't have anything to worry about.

[Maybe he did. Perhaps that was why he didn't come see him. He if there was one thing he remembered about Zack was that he needed the occasional encouraging push.]
