[Karai spends a good long time staring at the treetops above her before she realises she's back in the forest. Then she spends a good deal more time not moving except to shift a tree root out from under her spine. Uncomfortable. Hurts. Therefore, alive

[As Karai makes her way out of the forest, she will pass close by Michelangelo, who is out training. Magic, actually. He can point and shoot a respectable spark by now, but nothing combat ready yet.

He senses her coming, and blends in to the shadows, heart beating wildly.]

[Ninja senses are such wonderful things, aren't they? Karai doesn't seem to be paying much attention to hers. In fact, she passes right by him, not even glancing once in his direction.

She's in a New Feather dress and appears unarmed-- and moves like she should probably go to bed and sleep for a day or two. Actually, that's kind of what she's intent on doing.]

[O-kay? That's more than a little weird. Then again, Mike's never come back from the dead before. He'll trail her for a minute, and if she still doesn't react to his presence he'll deliberately slip up and make some noise.]

[She already knows Vash is trailing behind her somewhere back there. The extra presence doesn't really ping her until nearly a minute later-- and she stops dead just as Mike is about to make noise.]

Come out.

[Vash has been keeping an eye on things from behind. He hadn't noticed Mikey's presence either, not really expecting too much trouble. He just wanted to be sure Karai made it home safe. So when she speaks he thinks she's speaking to him. She sounds upset, so with a sheepish grin and a rub of his neck he answer.]

I'm just going home myself. [Sort of.]

[Vash?

Vash?

He thought you were cool, man.

Mike keeps to the shadows, hoping against hope that Karai really was talking to Vash and not him. And also hoping Vash isn't secretly evil. How can someone who likes donuts that much be evil?]

[Karai knows there is someone else there. And only a handful of people that would choose to hide from her like this. But her head hurts, and... she has no desire to call out anyone in front of Vash. Because that would potentially lead to certain things coming to light.

So Karai casts one glance in Mikey's general direction, before she shifts her focus to Vash instead.]

You live in the same building, do you not? It is understandable.

[goldenglasses]

Ahahahaha, I sure did! [No, that's not a typo.]

[Meep! Mike scrambles lightly up a tree at Karai's look.

So they're building-mates, huh? Vash must not know about her sordid past. But then, why would he? Part of the uneasy truce between the turtles and Karai had been allowing both parties to go about their business. But with Shredder here, there was no telling what Karai might do.

Mike resolved to warn Vash the next time they ran into each other at the bakery.]

[So he's moved. That solves her drunken neighbour problem. But she's not minded to talk more now; there's a turtle up in a tree staring down at her and clearly by now must at least wonder why she is in a New Feather dress. She hates feeling so vulnerable, even if she's sure that he won't attack her.

...she has no real desire to run into any turtles today in any case. So Vash gets a noncommital grunt, and Karai turns to continue making her way home.]

[Vash continues his quiet walk a few feet behind. Of course, now that she's acknowledged him again it's time for small talk!] Nice night out.

[Vash, what are you doing? This lady is a crazy psycho killer who just came back from the dead!

Now Mike is following to make sure Karai doesn't do something unspeakably horrible to Vash.]

[Yes. Something unspeakably horrifying.

[Hm, small talk has failed. So obviously that means it's onto step two. Terrible flirting.]

The stars shine so brightly out tonight, but not nearly as bright or breathtaking as your smi- [Wait, has Vash ever seen her smile?] eyes!

[Attempting to fall into a more familiar routine. Dying does not need to change things if you don't want it to. And besides! Who doesn't want to hear that they're pretty!]
