The Mistletoe Inn

Confession time: I have a weakness for cheesy holiday movies that you can find on the Hallmark channel.  They are great to have on in the background as you go about day.  Yes they follow a fairly predictable formula but I still enjoy them, (well most of them some are truly awful.)

Now on to the one I wanted to tell you about.  The Mistletoe Inn was soooo cute it stars Alícia Witt, who played the awesome Morgan le Fay in the Librarians.  The basic premise: Kim gets dumped by her boyfriend right before Christmas because he is an ass.  Kim is an inspiring writer and decides to finally finish her novel.  So she goes to writing retreat where one of her favorite authors is due to speak (the author is super reclusive so no one has ever met him.)  She also meets a fellow writer at the retreat named Zeke.  I’m sure you can see where this is going.

What I loved about it was the aspiring writer angle.  Kim has been working on her novel forever but she is afraid of criticism and afraid of putting herself out there.  So just going to the retreat is a big step for her.  You get to see her struggles and her triumphs at the workshop against a Christmas background.  Plus Kim and Zeke actually have chemistry together.  Do you see the twist coming a million miles away? Yes! BUT in spite of that it is a delightful lighthearted romance.

If you get a chance to catch it on tv I would highly recommend it!
