How I Met Your Mother, Season 2, Episodes 6-10

May 05, 2008 23:55

Now I'm really mad at myself for not watching this show earlier. Then again, Monday nights for the past few years have been kind of busy (24, Prison Break and now Chuck, House and Gossip Girl - Are they trying to kill me?). Anyhoo, watching 5 episodes in a row beats waiting week after week. It's going to be agony when I finally catch up.

Overall, episodes 6 to 10 were more enjoyable than the previous 5. Maybe it's because these characters have become my friends now and I like hanging out with them. I'd like to imagine that I'd fit right in. Below are my thoughts on episodes 6 to 10 of the season 2. My thoughts are even less sophisticated than omoo's, with whom I'm having so much fun discussing the show.

2-6 Aldrin Justice
I love that Jane Seymour, who is pushing sixty, is cast as a forty-something and can totally pull that off. Kinda sad that we never got to see the "peniscraper" or Ted's design.

2-7 Swarley
Nice to see a Firefly alumn (Morena Baccarin) doing something outside the Sci-fi genre. Love the reveal of Lily as the hunchback. "Swarles Barkley" was my favourite, next to the Cheers theme song at the end. And how could I forget: Lily and Marshall - YAY!! I'm glad it took 6 months. I wanted them back together, but I didn't want it to happen too quickly. Like I said, this show is grounded in realism.

2-8 Altantic City
I figured from the get go that Lily and Marshall would change their minds about eloping. Don't tell anyone, but I own Robyn's shirt.

2-9 Slap Bet
Favourite episode of the 5! How awesome was that video?! Robyn Sparkles - the Canadian Tiffany.

omoo sent me the link to the full version. Merci!!

Love the way Robyn says "sooorry" and "aboooot".

2-10 Single Stamina
Another great guest appearance. I hope Wayne Brady shows up in future episodes. It was nice to get a peek into Barney's childhood. Certainly explains a lot. The thing about couples and single people at clubs is SOOOOOOO TRUE.

Well, onwards and upwards!
