As is our tradition when I'm in town, Mom and I went to the cinema. Last time it was August and we saw the Bourne Ultimatum. We both came out drooling over Matt Damon. Back then we had a hurricane and a tropical depression to contend with. This time we saw P.S. I Love You and I had to contend with the ridicule of friends and relatives who all know that I'm mad about Gerry. I also had to contend with the really horrific reviews the movie received. Anyway, I went in with low expectations, just hoping to catch glimpses of Gerry's magical persona. Really, the guy is a charmer and he got to display that in this film. My Mom's not a Butler tart and she loved it. It was truly a tear-jerker and the grief that Hilary Swank's character experienced really hit home for us. I wasn't expecting to laugh and I did quite a bit. Let's just say that the film was adorable and I'll certainly be buying the DVD. Ya hear that,
aragwyn?!! I am buying the DVD! Sometimes you can't listen to the critics or your friends.
The best thing to come out of this film experience is that Mom and I have decided to visit Wales, Ireland and Scotland. Of course we'll spend time in England with friends and relatives, but to get the ultimate British souvenir (i.e. a husband) we must scour Britain in totality. We shall prevail.
