I wish I could give you some advice but I obviously haven't been in your situation, but then again I was pushed around by him too. I may not have as severe trust issues, I mean I can date guys, not ones that remind me of him, but somehow a few found me that weren't like him. Hopefully one will find you that is nothing like him. All I can say is it's probably really hard right now, but it eventually has to get better, right?
All you can do is keep being the frickin' awesome person you are (who totally pwns) and remember that not all guys are him, they aren't all going to do what he did. And at least now, if it does happen again (not saying it will, but if) then you'll recognize the signs and get out of there hella quick.
Maybe tell a few people who still talk to him that you would appreciate it if they didn't encourage him to talk to you, say you aren't comfortable around him for history that you feel should not be mentioned and they should respect your wishes.
And if they don't listen will send then lawn gnomes to tell them whats what.

yea people keep telling me the same things but it's not easy to just get over things... I dunno
soon enough some guy will be able to prove they're not all the same
no matter how cliche that sounds
