I guess it’s time for me to do a recap of the birthday weekend. I keep forgetting to sit down and truly take the time to write, so here goes nothing.
The fun began on Thursday after work when I went with Casey and Mindy to see Harry Potter in the IMAX. That was loads of fun and I got my birthday present from Casey too. I am now the proud owner of a Florida Gators mousepad. Anyway, after the film, we headed over to Fado for a pint. Well, Mindy and I each had a pint, Casey had water. I came home and picked up my packages from my mailbox. I got presents from both Brenda and Leslie and a card from Regina on Thursday. Anyway, my gifts from Brenda were a crème brulee set and some Rachael Ray 30 Minute Meals dvds. From Leslie, I got the latest Enya cd (which I LOVE btw) and a Rachael Ray cookbook. I got home around midnight and headed to sleep shortly after talking to my brother and Pim for a bit.
Friday, I got up early and got my massage and my nails done. The massage itself was just what I needed and the perfect birthday gift to me. Then Leslie and I had lunch at Panera which was always quite yummy. I got my grocery shopping done, and then headed out to La Plaia for a most delicious Italian dinner with my parents to celebrate my birthday. They had gotten me a nice knife to use for cooking, a food processor (my kitchen set is getting quite complete), and some books on the Holocaust from my wish list.
Saturday, I worked until 4. It was completely insane and I was just a bit tired after having to wake up early. I stopped by home and checked on a few things before heading up to Sunbury to pick Leslie up. I received Brandon’s card in the mail, sappy yet funny, so very fitting of him. Okay, enough of that. I got to Leslie’s and drove back down home. Tricia came over and the 3 of us headed to dinner at Las Margaritas here in Westerville. Oh yeah, my gift from Tricia was some blank cds so I can continue working on my music collection.
Now to interject here just a moment…. This will add to the story I’m telling.
After that, it was onto Fado over in Easton where we met up with Sara, Mindy, Ric, and Breana. Lots of alcohol to be consumed, and of course lots of laughter and fun overall. Mindy bought me a 007 martini which was most delicious.
The theme of the night was messing with post-its due to the rowdy table behind us.
Anyway, as you can tell if you’ve viewed these photos that the evening at Fado was a great deal of fun. I just managed to get quite tired and a little cranky. I guess old age does that to you- HA! Anyway, I haven’t received my gift from Ric yet, I guess I’ll get that this weekend. Breana got me some very cool Italian cookbooks and a gift card for Trader Joes so I can buy myself some wine. From Mindy she bought me the drink and got me some of the sugar free peanut butter cups from work…. YUM!!! We got home around 2:30 am, and I fell asleep probably sometime after 3 or so.
Sunday, the official day of my birthday. I got up at a decent hour, around 10 or so and had my shower and got Leslie and Tricia up. They both stayed over and we just hung out, they did some gaming while I cleaned up and got all the photos uploaded from the night before. Then Sarah came over and we all had some lunch and put up my Christmas tree. Plus having some extra cake didn’t hurt either and we just had a lot of fun with that.
My tree looks very pretty and well, anyway, here’s more to share.
Anyway, everybody left around 3:30 or so in the afternoon so I had a little bit of time to myself before I met up with Rachel and Sayuri at BW3s. Dinner was quite nice, and good times were to be had. Sayuri had gotten me some fun notecards and a beautiful photo album so I can store the photos I take in them. Then Rachel got me a pretty new journal for me to write in, but it will have to wait until I fill the one I am currently writing.
Okay, one last photo to share of my birthday.
Anyway, so to be 25 now is a bit odd. I was hoping to have certain things accomplished by now, but only time will tell what’s to come. There are some things I’m disappointed about, but others I couldn’t be happier to tell the truth. My heart is open and I can’t wait to see what this upcoming year will bring.
So, that’s it for now. If you want to see more photos, just let me know, I’ll gladly share them. Sorry that they are so big. Until next time.
