(no subject)
Today I saw a robin mom in my backyard busy caring for a brown headed cowbird youngster. I know it's just the way of things but it's sad. I guess though, the robin doesn't know so what's the difference? We have a robin's nest in the tree out front but I didn't see any eggs on the ground so I'm not sure that's where they came from.
In related notes, the doves seemed successful with only one of their two hatchlings. I wonder what happened to the other one.

Got out on my bike for the first time in well over a year. It's fricken hot though, so I did a scanty 10k. I will work on it. If the heat breaks I'll go for a real ride.
It is too hot to walk the dogs. Or so I tell myself. But really, if it's too hot for me, it MUST be too hot for them, right? They look like they are suffering from it when I take them out.
