Ah, David Cook.

So I'm going through the huge batch of e-mails in my Gmail folder--I don't archive or trash any of my old emails if I deem them important, so I have hundreds just sitting in my inbox, which frustrates dreamerren to no end. And I come across this one e-mail I sent to myself, which I do often, to give me notes or reminders I won't remember to ( Read more... )

I have no idea who wrote that quote. It's a nice one. But I can't really hear David say that? IDK.

And I hope nothing bad happened for you to write that second part about your journal. YIKES.

No, nothing bad's happened personally, but LJ has made a new feature where you, or anyone commenting on your journal, can cross-post to Facebook or Twitter, which is extremely unsettling when you want to keep those realms of social networking separate.

Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, I saw that post about this new feature, and I'm not sure I like that either. I'm a bit like you, I like to keep certain things separate.

I like that quote. It sounds like something Outlaw Andy would say.

Eep! I have been seeing a lot of posts on my flists with similar verbiage. Makes me nervous. Maybe I should do something similar. Oy.

SPEAKING of fics! I love love love love that Kink Prompt thing! Seriously. I am attempting to draft something but I get too caught up in reading others :)

Hee. :D (Actually Andy would in all likeliness not say something like that, because he wasn't ever really fond of his home life, but it'd be something very significant for Dave to say because he couldn't ever really go home again.)

I was seeing it a lot, too, and I don't think anyone would take this to other places but it's not something I want to keep moot, y'know? And I don't know if Facebook would link to my LJ since I use different emails for both accounts.

Eeeeee! Awesomesauce! :D celtic_cookie and I just came up with the idea Monday morning on Twitter and by the time I got home from work she made up the post. :D It's super amounts of fun and I want to write more! And which line are you planning to use? :)

Sounds like Outlaw Dave to me ("literally", and the theme of getting back home).

Incidentally, you and celtic_cookie should be congratulated on your fiendishly clever fantasy kinkmeme! I spent many billable hours devising kink instead of working on submissions ;)

Hahaha, thank you about the meme! I had thought of that a while ago in a different fandom, but never thought to make it a structured legit meme like this. It works incredibly well, and thank you so much for spending your time devising that kink! XD

I love that quote. Definitely sounds like something Outlaw Andy or Kyle would say.

I really should put up a note in my journal too about being x-posted to FB and twitter - its like, not EVERYONE wants everyone on FB/Twitter to know about what they use LJ for.

I can't remember where that quote came from! Or why just that was in my email. I'm really wondering now if it was something Dave had said in an interview and that's why I didn't attribute the quote in the email.

No, not at all. I don't use the same email for LJ as I do for Facebook so I wonder if that'll impede anything anyone wants to link from being linked. And my RL friends and coworkers do NOT need to know about my fandom misgivings or the huge amounts of porn I write while at work, lol.

Ha. I wish I could write huge amounts of porn at work. Doesn't happen though.

But I totally understand, I keep the fic I *do* write (like, Dave/Ryan, and the Jimmy one I'm working on that I've hit a bump in the road with but the three parts I have written are posted) locked in my journal for a reason.
