Things don't just *poof* exist, and without a purpose. Things that are created, are that- created! How can things be created without something creating them? Then how does the universe exist? Course you might try to use that same argument about God, except you'd forget, we can't understand God. He's beyond our full comprehension. Its easier for me to believe that an all powerful being beyond human understanding created everything rather than science being behind the creation of all things.
If there was no God, we would all be "accidents," the result of astronomical random chance in the universe. You could stop living because life would have no purpose or meaning or significance. There would be no right or wrong, and no hope beyond your brief years here on earth. In fact you'd have to believe that instead of God, the universe and its complex clockwork of intricate forces that keep it all running accidentally designed and created itself against unfathomable odds.
