Because I keep forgetting to do this, and the news out of Chitown today makes me nervous for my beloved Cubbies.
CHICAGO - The Chicago Cubs, whose 101-year title drought is the longest in American sport, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Monday in a move to help the Major League Baseball team's ownership change.
full story here I don't know if this means they're taking the team away from Wrigley, or what, but I'm gonna be on pins and needles until the new owners reveal their plans (Stay at WRIGLEY, people. Just sacrifice a damn goat or something).
The kittens left on Saturday and I miss the one nicknamed Lois. She was so lovely and loving.
And speaking of Lois, I am psyched over the new season of Smallville so far, even though there was less Clark than usual in the first two eps, like I've seen mentioned on other journals. But he's so Supermanly these days, I'm quietly squeeing like the crazy DC fangirl I am.
In regards to the other cast, Lois is awesome, and I think she's supposed to be going overboard on the Blur worship because she doesn't have another outlet for how she feels about Clark.
Oliver continues to head towards rock bottom. He's not quite there yet, because I think he's still in denial about his actions at the end of last season (and still waiting for a real apology to Big Blue there, Arrow. If not, I hope Dinah kicks your ass) and since Clark is running circles around him in regards to being a hero and a stand-up guy, I can wank his behavior as jealous. Especially around Lois, who isn't "busting his chops" anymore in a girlfriend capacity.
Chloe ... she's winning me back just a little, due to her interaction with Emil, who is kind enough to bring up problems he sees with some of her behavior. And I think they'd almost make a cute couple.
Zod! Callum makes me love Zod more and more every time he's on screen. I can't wait for his first encounter with Clark. And Tess rocked her scenes. As a long time Highlander, I can never get enough of swordplay, especially when sexy women wield them.
