What do you mean abuse? Disney songs are mean to be sing ALL THE TIME outandproudboy December 11 2010, 02:46:43 UTC
Blaine was used to singing. for people, to people, to himself...that was the live of a singer, and he was the lead one in his Glee club. But not anymore, he remind himself. That was in his world and now all of that was gone, the warblers were no more, and the whole Dalton Academy was just a memory.

He was worried that all was going to be like his life before Dalton. Like his old school, where people made his life miserable because he didn't fit on what they called 'normality'. But much to his relief, the villagers where nice, even too nice, and helped him to adapt to his new situation. Blaine still had his moments of panic and he still worried about his family and friends, but he he could deal with this. He had to.

Which lead back to the singing, because that was a constant theme now. it was annoying to have to sign ALL the time, so he started carrying around a notepad with him. He couldn't stop himself from humming songs, sadly, even when he was trying to focus on the people and looking for that girl he met, Anathema.

....this is true. Can we abuse Lion King then? :> thebooksaysso December 11 2010, 08:17:09 UTC
She almost didn't hear the humming at first. She probably would have walked right on past him if he'd been much quieter, but she stopped briefly, glanced curiously across the way. The uniform was definitely different from the clothing everyone else seemed to be wearing in town, so that was one good sign. It even looked vaguely like one of her old school uniforms, but he hadn't sounded English over the computer.

She slipped a little as she took off jogging, still unused to snow, and waved to get his attention.

"Hullo? Mr. Blaine? I'm looking for someone to share my pain." And wasn't that the truth right now....with a small huff she continued. "I'm looking for someone who understands how I feel, someone who can keep it real.... Is it you?"

Sure. The little mermaid too. outandproudboy December 11 2010, 13:09:27 UTC
"All of the things that I want to say just aren't coming out right. I'm tripping inwards..." Blaine replied and smiled a bit sheepishly. He recognized the girl's voice easily, he had good memory when it came to that. Blaine was lucky that she could tell it was him because obviously he was not paying enough attention to the people singing around him. He offered her his hand, politely.

"You and me and all of the people, with nothing to do, nothing to prove. And I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you." The last part wasn't something he was about to say to a girl he just met, but he couldn't stop himself.

"That's...." Oh. Well. Whether it was something he meant to say or not, she was just glad that her face was already red from the cold. Anathema took his hand regardless, noting with a frown just how cold his fingers were.

"Come," she started, just barely managing to keep the musical tone out of her voice as she started to tug him along. "We'll get you warm first."

Blaine didn't notice anything strange. He was used to be nice to people and he barely realizes when he was flirting. Not that he was doing that now (anathema was still a strange and the wrong sex for his licking),but the song's lyrics could be understood that way. He squeezed her hand gently but with security, and let it go so he could put it on his pocket.

He nodded again in silent agreement, thankfully that he didn't need word to get his point across. The winter weather in Ohio was bad, but the weather in Orvshire was ten time worse. Or maybe he was thinking that because he didn't had any proper winter clothes and his blazer wasn't enough to keep him warm.

Silence was good. The less singing she had to deal with, the better, and she lead them down the road and into the first shop that looked promising. The fur hanging in the store window caused her frown to twist even further; hopefully that wasn't all they sold....

"The world can be a scary place....hard to keep faith in the human race." It was, in its own way, a brief explanation of what he could expect. What he'd just been dragged into. She could give him the whole run down on the place once they got out of this living musical, but for now this would have to do.

Blaine followed her, grateful for the help but wondering why was she so nice with someone she didn't knew. Maybe for the same reason he helped Kurt when they met. The boy looked so lost. Blaine hated that, hated feeling lost and helpless, like he felt in the past, and wanted to spare others that feeling. And yet, now he was feeling like that again.

"I know I..I'm lost in the world, I'm down my whole life, I'm new in the city.. .he sang, before he could stop himself,. But the boy understood what she was trying to say. He was expecting her to lead him to a coffee shop, or the equivalent of coffee shops there, but not a store. Blaine knew that dollars where of any use in this world, and he didn't had anything else with him. He felt uneasy allowing others to pay or help him like that.

'I said hey I'm a poor poor boy
Well I got no car and my horse went lame I got no friends that I can name.

Anathema shook her head. "You've got troubles, I've got them, too. There isn't...." Again, it was out before she could stop herself, and it took too much effort to cut herself off. She paused, closed her eyes and took a breath to push her growing annoyance back down. It didn't help, of course, but she gave Blaine a wry smile before she continued, defeated.

"We stick together and we'll see it through, because you've got a friend in me."

And the moment they entered the store she waved him away, a silent gesture for him to find something warm, something he could bundle up in while they were here. Without a word she walked over to the shop owner, grabbing a small scarf for herself along the way, and began the process of haggling away what few items she still had from the last few villages they'd passed through.

She was right. He knew she was right. Everything worked different here, they had to give a hand to each other. Resigned, Blaine nodded one more time and looked for a coat of his size and a pair of gloves. He chose a black  trench coat that looked comfortable enough and not too expensive. From the corner of his eye he saw Anathema talking to the villager.

Blaine looked inside his pocket and took out a golden pocket watch. I was old, no, not old..more like antique, and belonged to his grandfather. He was reluctant to give it away, even if the alternative was to catch a pneumonia.

Almost as if she were reading Blaine's mind, Anathema briefly glanced back at him, waved a hand for him to stay where he was before she turned back to the clerk with a small gesture to the coat the boy was holding. It was a hushed conversation, Anathema obviously trying hard to keep from breaking into song as they talked--and, from the sound of it, failing rather miserably--and after a few more moments she reluctantly reached into her bag again, and pulled out two little cloth pouches; the last of her personal tea blends.

She leaned forward to say something quiet into the clerk's ear, which caused the older woman to clap delightedly and sing out her thanks as Anathema wound the scarf around her neck and walked back to Blaine. "You're fine. Let's go."

Blaine was surprised as how quickly the arrangement happened, but he was not goign to complain about it. As soon as he managed to get his new life in order he would compensate Anathema for her kindness and help.

"Thanks for the joy that you're giving me, I want you to know I believe in your song. Rhythm and rhyme and harmony, you help me along, making me strong." He sang to her before to put on the coat on. He nearly has forgotten what warm was at this point. Blaine turned to the clerk and gave her a politely bow before to follow Anathema. He was curiosity about what she told to the clerk to make her laugh that way.

"What did you told her..she was was laughing." He managed to say it all without breaking into a song. Good.

"Oh, you know, eye of newt, wing of a bat, long black whisker from a big black--" This time when she cut herself off it wasn't in annoyance, or with another coughing fit; she laughed. Softly, and she muffled it just as quick as it had bubbled out, but dear God, of all the ridiculous songs.... "Spider legs and wolf hound fur, bring it to a boil and stir~"

She did cough when her voice cracked, though, and once she collected herself again she looked up with a smile and continued in a normal tone.

"It was medicine. Sort of. I'm just surprised she took to it so quickly."

Blaine replied with a laugh of his own. He smiled often but laughing was not as frequent. He knew that song about witches and Halloween.

"Docto Jones, doctor Jones... " Blaine couldn't believe that he was singing Aqua form all the things, and he stopped suddenly, gaining the ability to speak a for a moment or two. "I mean.,,are you a doctor?" He practically squeaked, stepping out of the store and tugging the new cloak tighter around himself.

"My grandmother was a self-proclaimed healer," she sang out, shaking her head and trying very hard to laugh at his own song choice. "I picked up a few things from her over the years."

Blaine smile didn't vanish. He hummed the Cranberries as they walked. "My mother, my mother she hold me. Did she hold me, when I was out there. My father, my father, he liked me. O he liked me, does anyone care.."

He missed his family, he was worried about them. Maybe they were out there too, in another village, lost as well. "Are you...all alone? I...For my family for my friends, for those that we've lost I sing. This is a message, this is for you"

"Never forget the lower east side crew," she finished, the line falling free before she could catch herself, he smile fading some. Again, her thoughts turned to Newton, to Adam, to her family....and her heart dropped a little. It was over a month now since she had vanished; she wondered how they were still coping....

"A lost bird caught in mid migration, far away to a foreign land....there's no one here, no. No on that I know."
