"Oh," he said, lamely. One of the birds shrilled a question; he shook his head and ushered it away while he had its attention. It complained. Loudly, in fact, but it launched upwards with frantic wingbeats nonetheless. Within seconds the others had followed it, and Juugo rolled his shoulders to lessen the beginnings of muscle ache. The creatures here were larger than usual. Heavier, too. But she was speaking again, so he stilled, and listened again to be polite.

"Just arrived?" He tilted his head, just slightly, and watched her circle. He really didn't think giving that sort of information out was a good idea. Just arrived in the village, as a traveller? Or did she mean the disorientation of waking up somewhere different and new? She could very well be a native. She passed behind the statue, and he looked ahead again until she reappeared on his other side. It was unnerving, like a predator circling a wounded animal, but not enough that he sensed any danger. He reluctantly decided to hedge. "You could say that."

A pause. Hopefully, "Have you?"

Morrigan scoffed. "Hardly. I have found myself in these parts for more than thirty days." It was difficult to keep track, so much time felt as though it had passed, and with Jowan's disappearance Morrigan was not sure whether or not she would find proper opportunity to leave this place again. But that was a thought for another time.

"If you are new, surely you have heard of the caravan?" she prompted further, halting in front of him once more and peering down upon him. It wasn't a particularly threatening gesture, but nor was it an innocent one. Calculative, perhaps, or simply blunt.
