It wasn’t unusual for Serah to wake up with the sun. As soon as she felt the first lingering beams of light hit her face, she opened her eyes and found herself unable to go back to sleep. She had then quietly slipped on some clothes, careful not to disturb her new roommate, exiting through the doorway into the Caravan’s hallways. She didn’t have any particular destination in mind, wandering through the quiet halls and enjoying the relative silence that could be found in the few hours before most of the passengers woke.

It wasn’t long before she entered another hallway, near where the showers were. She wouldn’t have given the rooms a second glance if it hadn’t been for the startling noise that reached her ears and made her jump, startled. The noise had been loud, and almost seemed to echo through the hallway.

Was everything all right? Someone hadn’t fallen or gotten hurt, had they?

She spun around, jogging towards one of two shower entrances, rushing inside, though stopping halfway with a self-conscious jerk. She didn’t want to compromise someone’s modesty if the noise was only an accident and embarrass them, but... she didn't want to leave someone inside who was hurt or needed help.

“Hey, is everything all right in there?” she said, speaking loud enough for anyone inside to hear. “I heard a noise-are you okay?”
